mini and micro usb

I've got an Creative Zen Stone mp3 player which is charged via a mini usb. I've also got a phone charger, which uses a usb to micro usb cable. Is there any reason I can't use the micro usb cable and the plug part of the phone charger to charge my mp3 player from the mains rather than from the pc?
