Arnold Clark in Kirkcaldy and Perth Honda

So a warning/vent about Arnold Clark in Kirkcaldy and praise for Perth Honda!

Recently I was looking around for a car and as I couldn't get what I wanted in Edinburgh it was time to venture further a field! So off to Kirkcaldy and noticed a rather nice Honda civic SE (Entry level).

Anyway, we looked around the car, and decided to see about getting a quote for trading in my reliable astra.

So off with the salesman we went to get figures etc (which he refused to give me quotes on paper, citing it was against rules set by the FSA). We had been given a quote for our Astra and he asked if I would like to put a deposit down, now something wasn't sitting right with me about the car and said I'd like to go away and think about it, the salesmen then started banging the desk claiming I was wasting his time, this was a cheap day out for me and that I wasn't serious in buying a car.

He was being so aggressive that my fiancee was getting upset and that was when we called it quits and left with him acting aggressive towards us.

Knew they liked to do the hard sale but WOW, that was intense.

If anyone wants this guys name, feel free to ask!

Anyway to try and restore our faith in humanity we then went off to Perth, stopped in at Honda as I liked the civic, the salesman there (Richard) was more than helpful!

We had arrived quite late and they should have closed at 5pm, showed us a car that had just arrived, but was the same price/mileage as the last one.. but the EX model (Full spec, all the extra's), they took us out for a test drive, gave us quotes and valuations on paper, said if we returned the next day to place a deposit they'd throw in a tank of petrol and a years road tax too!

So we did, when we picked the car up, they even gave my fiancee a bunch of flowers!

Should of known better to avoid Arnold Clark, good mental note for the future, but highly recommend Perth Honda, they couldn't be nicer, no pressure or anything :D
:exclamatiTo the internet.. I need to complain about something!

They're not colloquially known as Arnold Shark for nothing. If you thought PRE-sales was bad, just imagine what AFTER-sales would be like!

Indeed, it was sitting in my mind the whole time, but had to go check the car out and well he done me a favour by making me go to Perth and get a BETTER car for the same money! :D
