Re. HP - their sales and support is very good recently. Not sure about the longevity of this particular laptop though.

and if you think you may want to use any of the new Windows "Apps" but would prefer to run them as "normal" Windows "windowed" applications then try Stardock's ModernMix ($5 to buy if you like)
