Insurers Now Penalising for No-Fault Claims

I was appauled to be told by our insurance company that I had to pay an additional £40 because one of my engineers had someone drive into the back of him. Even though the accident was not his fault and the 3rd party were a garage so repaired the damage themselves so no claim was put through, because we had informed the insurers they charged us extra. The explanation they gave was that all insureres now are penalising for no-fault claims. How the hell can this be allowed????? I wrote to our local MP and he said he will look into it, but as yet I have heard nothing else.
Martin can you please:money: look into this, its legalised theft in my eyes and absolutely disgusting.

It's been the norm for at least the 18 years I've been driving.I was appauled to be told by our insurance company that I had to pay an additional £40 because one of my engineers had someone drive into the back of him. It's a commercial (business) decision by the insurers. Not illegal, not immoral and not a thing your MP can or will do about it.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -
Some insurer do load your premium and some don't.
Ive been hit twice in the past couple of years with no rise in premium.
Coop and Aegis.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

Your premium is set according to many factors that make up your risk profile.
You pay a different premium to others because you are different (live somewhere different, drive a different car, use your car more than others, etc) and now have been involved in a claim.
Getting your mp involved justs wastes both your time!
Just shop around for the best deal at renewal, and you may find you can save more than £40!0 -
or reclaim the premium loading from the at fault party together just like any other consequential costs.
As above, how they set your premium is a commercial matter for them about which you (rightly) can do nothing.
Consequential costs resulting from someone else's negligence is a different matter and can be reclaimed from the at fault party0
