Maybe try www.usedcarsni.com as well - it's about £4 for 4 weeks on there, and lots of people use it, especially for the price range you're selling in. Agree with trying gumtree as well. Delete your ad and re-post every couple of days on gumtree to keep it near the top of the listings.

Yes, i'd recommend usedcarsni too. Cheap and worth a try.

Thanks for all the input, I am aware of these types of scams, with that in mind, what is the safest way to take payment for the car?

Cash and take it to the bank to ensure all ok.

A friend of mine recently sold an expensive car privately. He got the buyer to meet him at the buyer's bank, they arranged an electronic transfer to the seller's account together, exchanged the V5 and both sets of keys, and the buyer took the car home. That way there was no messing about with cash, risk of dodgy notes, risk of getting robbed. Another way would be to get a banker's draft, but as above, go with the buyer to their bank and see the draft being issued yourself, so you know it's not a dud. Then take it straight to your bank and pay it in.
  • utvdrive is another option + it's free for private sellers.

Recently sold a vehicle and placed ads through utvdrive and usedcarsni. Total cost was £4.
