Using two estate agents ?

Hello
Just musing something , our town has about 35k people in, a house i have been looking at . has been up for a while with 1 LOCAL agent , and now , i notice it`s up with another LOCAL agent , yet at the same asking price....
Both agents use RM , Zoopla etc , and both have functionable web sites
Bearing this in mind , why would some one use 2 agents ? just wondered if there is something i`m missing?
Could it be one EA is undercutting (percentage wise) the other ? or something like that ?

Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.

Normally desperation!
There's very little increase in viewings these days with, as you say, t'internet to do most of the advertising work for the agent. In days gone by I did use two agents when a village house fell between two market towns, with one agent in each. now, there's no need. It's usually a sign of some one struggling to sell for whatever reason, or someone in the process of changing agents.
Percentage-wise, they tend to work at the same % whan doing this, and it's normally higher than using just one agent (unless you negotiate, or course)

It could be different buyers on their books. We went dual estate agents after 6 months in the market and the new EA sold it to someone on their books within 2 weeks0

Surely though , the same buyers know how to use the internet ?Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0 -
Not everyone uses the Internet, there are still
People that view via window and notices from agents, yes Internet is the way forward for most but not all!
Also in my area people go multi agent to get the ea working even quicker as it makes it competition!0 -
when they come to do the hard sell in the first place they are all pretty much dead againts anything BUT sole agency , i guess after the contract period and still no sale people get a bit desperate?Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0
