Do they write to you to let you know when to do it or are you supposed to just do it off your own back? All my figures are ready to go I'm just waiting for a say so.

They do write to you, but you can do it without the letter. I did mine two days ago, without receiving the letter, because it was later than usual this year. Apparently they sent it out on the 6th, but no sign yet!0

I do mine the minute the accounts are back (accountant's been working on them since Mid-March), as I do my personal tax return and the company return (and companies house sheets) at the same time.
All I know at the moment, is at the end of March, there was £0 cash in the company, and that the balance has risen by around £4.5m now
I do, however, leave it until mid Jan to pay any tax.

I assume that you have let them know that you are getting some income that is not PAYE?0
