Buildings & Contents - Flat roofed properties

I am having trouble obtaining buildings and contents insurance for a flat roofed property. The property is a 1st floor flat within a 3 storey block with 8 other flats in it.

Does anyone know of insurers that will take this type of property? I have tried 5 or 6 differrent ones this morning and have been turned away 

The block should be insured by the owners/ managing agents of the block. As presumably the flat is leasehold, you only need to sort out your contents insurance.

the flat is ex LA and it's freehold There is no factor or buildings manager

I will require to get buildings insurance as well as contents.

Surely you are not liable for the whole roof? The other flat owners should also have to pay a proportion of the cost?
How do you deal with the other maintenance costs?
You should have a management company dealing with things like the Buildings Insurance and therefore all pay a fee annually to cover such costs.
