Buying foreign property

I have tried "googling" for the the answer to my question but to no avail.
Could someone please advise me on how I would go about buying a property in Poland. My girlfriend is from Krakow and I would like to find out how or who I could get a mortgage with to buy a property in Poland. Also I would like to know what to do or who to speak to regarding "conveyancing".
I appreciate any help anyone can offer.
Thank you!!

Personally, wouldn't have the foggiest but in the absence of any other replies have a look here as a starting point:

Not a recommendation, personally thought they were quite expensive though overseas mortgages do tend to be, they are a long established with finance abroad.
Would have thought your G/F or her family might be best placed to advise on lawyers and the buying system there but I'm sure the law society will hold details of law firms with have affiliation's with Poland.0 -
Thank you,
It certainly gives me a starting point.0 -
Try putting in a search for Polish forums. There are lots of forums around for different countries where people have bought and give adivice. I have properties in Cyprus and use the forum everyday. Don't know if there is one for Poland but worth a try.

I do know that there are some areas of Poland that you would not be permitted to buy but your girlfriend would e.g. close to borders etc. All a matter of national security supposedly (also a fair amount to do with the number of Germans who were looking to buy property immediately adjacent to their border towns). Other than that not too sure, sorry."I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand." — Confucius0
