Hi
My wife had an accident with a glass of milk and our laptop, so it looks like I will need to buy a new one.
Budget is around £300-£350. It is for home use so internet and email and a few hundred photos and some music.
Any suggestions?
Also, what would be a good external hard-drive to buy? Looks like we've lost what was on the old laptop so don't want to make the same mistake again.
thanks in advance for your help.
regards,
F

You likely have not lost anything. You can remove the hard drive from the laptop and put it an external casing. Less than £5 all in.
Laptops from £200 according to your needs.
What model name and number the damaged machine?0 -
The damaged machine is a Toshiba, Satellite, C660-1K9
Thanks for your help.

Suitable replacement for that machine from £200 to £250.
Toshiba Satellite C850 101 for £203.98. Though I would spend the extra £15 to put another 4GB RAM in there.
A few choices these days under the £250 mark. Even an HP with a 2nd generation i3 processor for under £250 after Cashback.
External caddy for the 2.5" hard drive of the 'damaged' Toshiba £3.150 -
You could also take a look at the Dell Outlet site - just be aware that the prices displayed exclude vat and delivery
