I have 2 CVs. One each for the different Industries I work/ed in.
For one industry I use my middle name but for the another I don't.

really why? has it ever caused a problem at interview stage?

One comment to OP though is have you really checked over your CV and had someone else check it over for you?

yeah, ive signed up with a programme that helps unemployed people find jobs and theres volunteers there who are senior managers at local businesses, so they look over it. They help you with interviews as well, if I ever get one!

That is good, as these are useful even if they feel like a pain in the butt.

Do you live in an area of high unemployment, mind you most places have high unemployment. Have you worked before? what experience do you have? if none what type of job are you looking for?

Do you know if any of the jobs applied for have taken up references, could it be that you are not getting a very good reference?

My first name is Dutch, second name Polish.

    I am English.

People are always mispronouncing my name and I am asked for right to work in UK things frequently lol

However I do get a fair amount of interviews. People probably just think my name is different and interesting?

Funny you should say this. Our family has an eastern european surname and we are all english, with "english" first names. In the main our names have stood us in good stead, perhaps this is because we have always lived and worked in & around multi-cultural London.

I was always recognised and remembered at work which was good for my career as long as I didn't make any major boo-boos ! My brother, nephew and niece are all now in the emergency services and they feel their surname helped them get job interviews under the "diversity" heading which is mandatory in the public sector. It didn't help them get through the interview though !!

Going off on a tangent now, I confess to once not hiring a woman just because of her appearance - she bore a striking resemblance to the young Myra Hindley, poor girl. Hopefully she was offered a job by someone who didn't remember that far back.
