what do you think?

i want to open another account, and i want your advice.

i have recently started a second job, where, because my hours are flexible, my pay packet fluctuates greatly from one week to the next.

i dont want to stick this into my main (student) account, because if it is there, then so too is the temptation to spend it. not to mention a poor rate of interest....

my aim with this money is to save it up til september, where i will probably then use it to buy furniture for me new pad, after which the account will prob become my christmas shopping fund, etc etc.

i was after something with a fair to very good interest rate, where i can withdraw money without having to give notice (or being penalised too hard)

i cant open another isa, as i already have one

any accounts you can recommend?

An egg savings account or an ING account will suit you just fine. Instant access and online transacting make it the best.

What bank do you have current account with?
Most banks have online saving accouns linked to current accont.
    For example:
    HSBS 4.7% online saver,
    Barclays 4.4% e-savings account,
    Nationwide 5% e-savings,
    A&L 5.35% online saver,
    ....

Try the halifax current /websaver combo that pays 4.9%

The online platform allows for instant transfers between the accounts.
