Barclaycard cash back - Annual fee

I have had a Barclaycard Platinum Visa for many years and have recently been accepted for their cash back card. I use my credit card for practically everything and as a result have a considerable monthly spend. I always clear the balance in full each month.
I will benefit from having the cash back card unless I am overlooking something. Bearing in mind my large monthly spend I have asked Barclaycard to waive the annual fee this time around and they have agreed. I plan to ask every year. My advice to anyone who has a high monthly spend is that they should do the same thing. When I made my request I was expecting to get knocked back. My cash back card should now be even more rewarding. Good luck.

Just so you know there was actually an offer hidden in the depths of their website giving the first year free. There is a separate thread on here and most people have not had to pay the fee yet. Next year might be a different story though.Graduated 16 July 2013 with First Class Honours :jHouse Deposit: £6,493.10 - Cashback Total: £447.670 -

Thanks for that I was totally unaware. Even when I spoke with a Barclaycard agent on the phone nothing was said about the first year being free. It was only when I messaged them via the website that they agreed to waive the charge.Money is a wise mans religion0
