Hi all,
I'm looking into a Tesco credit card. We are thinking of using it on our shopping every week and paying it off straight after. This would build our credit rating.
Would this also earn use clubcard points??
Thanks in advance

Where are you looking?

"¹ One point awarded for every £4 spent in each purchase transaction (£4min)."
There are better cashback cards around: Cashback Credit Cards
However, if it's your first credit card, you can have problems with getting any of CC cards with rewards.0 -
Best to wait for the bill to come in.johnandkymberley wrote: »We are thinking of using it on our shopping every week and paying it off straight after.
Not as much as waiting for the statement would because if you operate it as you propose, they may report a zero balance to the CRAs each month. This would build our credit rating.

I do that, pay off as I spend but leave a few items on to carry over onto the statement for credit building purposes. Your suggestion will bag you the points though.0

How many points do you collect delree? On a typical month? Xx0

You dont need to leave a balance, however take into account tesco are strictDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

I couldn't tell you the exact number but I usually end up with a good amount of vouchers every quarter, prezzos pizza express etc. It's worth especially if you fill up your car there too, double points I think!0 -
if you have a balance it outways the points, no matter if you leave a balance or not it wont make no difference so you may as well pay off. Tesco are very picky on who to acceptDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. I've got a double points voucher that I am saving for a big shop. Hoping it will also double the points gained by using my card.
Double points voucher will only double the ordinary CC points you would get with that transaction i.e. it does also double any additional points coupons you have on that transaction. And certainly doesn't double you previous ones!
Please note also the additional points get added on overnight - as long as the coupon is itemised on the receipt.I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0
