I *think* I have read on here that supplies which have been capped for a year the meter is removed. Property status and ownership details is not gleaned from the meter anyway, so you would need to deal with them. You need to read the letter more carefully before throwing your toys out of the pram, that is not a simple meter read letter.

No they only remove supplys when no meter has been attached for a year, and this is done by the network
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

It is not entirely clear that the OP has a fuel debt here. OP is renovating and has possibly probably bought from someone who does have a fuel debt. Obviously, if OP does have a debt, then it would be better for him to tell us so we can give advice which matches the situation.

I am assuming OP does not have a debt - the only indicator is the presence of Face2Face - and that could be for someone completely different. If OP does not have a debt, then he should not be put off by fear of spurious charges from Face2face.

I'm assuming [±] nothing. I'm accepting that a pack of rottweilers have been sent to that address for a reason, nowt to fear - let them in - job done - get rid of the chew and on with the rest of your life.

Now as to the issue of the recalls and letters and constantly escalating costs that will continue and the rottweilers will do everything within their power to get that money. Just let them do what they want to do and the rottweilers go away.

If OP does not owe anything, there are no escalating costs to fear. Sorry, I do think you are assuming that OP has debts - it is implicit in you not accepting that OP may not be liable for these 'escalating costs'
You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'

it depends on why they need access, we are all guessing as the op isnt telling the full story

I suggest you ask him outright. At least you are being open about the assumptions you are making.

I would agree that there may be a debt issue - but given that OP is renovating, it may be that he has bought the place. It seems less likely to me that someone will have money to renovate and not be able to afford the utilities - so I think we should be prepared to accept that it may relate to a previous occupier.
