Credit Check for Bank Account

I recently got declined for a Santander 123 Current Account based on the credit check. I've no missed payments but have a very short credit history (credit card for a little over 6 months and a mortgage for 3 months).
I wasn't on the electoral registrar but will be from next month. Is it worth applying for a First Direct or Halifax account at that point or should I let the recent search age a little first?

That's probably your problem. I'd wait a few months.marathonic wrote: »I wasn't on the electoral registrar but will be from next month. Is it worth applying for a First Direct or Halifax account at that point or should I let the recent search age a little first?0 -
I've seemed to get rejected by two banks for 'more than your basic bank account', and really think it is to do with my credit score

I'd wait a few months since the last search a bank would have done. Because searches leave 'footprints' and the more you have they view you as desperate - (not my words!!!)Save in 2013: #166: 9,122.51/[STRIKE]5,000[/STRIKE] 10,000Interest earned in 2014: £257.61 20/04/140
