Cheap Europe Hotel on route UK-Lake Garda

As the title suggests we are planning on driving to Lake Garda in summer and looking for a stopover hotel along the way, anywhere between 2 hours from Calais to 3 hours before Lake Garda.

We are prepared to take any route necessary either France, Belgium-Luxembourg-Switzerland etc!

Dates are 25th August and 2nd September.

Any help is appreciated.

PS the other issue is there are 5 of us 2 adults, 9 year old, 7 year old and a 2 year old!

cheaper the better - its just a place to sleep!
