Some letting agents and landlords will accept you if you have a guarantor providing employer references etc come back ok. Have you got a family member you could ask?
  • yeah i think i could ask my partners father but if that failed is there any other way or is that just it cause we are young 20 and 21 my parnter is pregnant but we cant stay at her parents we have a month left to find somewhere
  • Do you have a deposit, months rent and agency fees saved up? We managed to get in our first rented property by having a guarantor but our credit had no issues but I'm sure there are agents that will allow for not great credit?
  • we have first months rent and deposit at 650.00 and the 140 fees they asked for but i dont want to pay the fee and then they say no and i've been at my new job less than a month.
  • thats 650 rent then 650 deposit
  • You will struggle to find an agency that don't take a fee as that's how they make their money along with charging the landlord. Maybe look in shop windows or online for somewhere private with no estate agent involved, they are less likely to do credit checks.

Well if you're not prepared to pay a fee then most letting agents are not an option for you. You could try to find a private landlord who won't insist on credit checks. Local papers etc are a good place to start as suggested above. To be honest if you're desperate to find somewhere and you have a guarantor then surely you can swallow the fee in order to have settled accommodation?

The only other thing you can do if you are staying with your partner's parents and cannot continue to stay there is go to your local authority's housing services department who may be able to give further advice.
