Adding gold to a ring??

If its just that back of the ring that has worn thin, I good goldsmith should be able to take the back off & add a new back to it, almost like extending the ring but simply cutting a section out & replacing it. That way you would still have the original front section & if the goldsmith is good enough you won't be able to tell what's been done!0

I have had this done twice now. My maternal grandmother's wedding ring was re-fashioned and hallmarked and my wedding ring. It is good to have an idea of what you want to achieve and it did cost more than anticipated due to the cost of gold. Hallmarking is separate and they have to be sent off. I now have two rings which I wear constantly instead of sitting in my jewellery box.I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0
