Newlyn Chasing Payment for NCP Parking Ticket

Hi,
I'm really hoping somebody out there can put my my mind at rest; I received an NCP parking fine after parking at a local train station. I had bought a ticket via my phone (Ringo) but, unbeknown to me, unfortunately I had only done this half an hour or so after the fine had been issued. The mistake I seem to have made, judging from all the advice I've seen thus far, is that I wrote to NCP appealing the fine thus admitting I was driving. The response I received from NCP dismissed my appeal and as I have not yet paid the £50 fine it has now been passed to Newlyns for recovery. I have had 2 letters to date with a total outstanding now at £129. Any advice?
Thanks so much.

Advice:
1. Ignore Newlyns
2. Search for Newlyns using the search box at the top in order to understand why.
3. Appeal to POPLA (did NCP provide you with a code? If so, when was the ticket/appeal/rejection?).
4. Don't pay anyone anything.0 -
Think popla is to late now if newlyns have written twice. Still on the ncp rejection did they give you an opportunity to use popla the independent appeals ?When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.

When you search for Newlyn, ONLY look at threads about them acting as a 'debt collector' (as they are here) which involves ignoring their letters, that's all.
Do not make the mistake of reading about Newlyn bailiffs (completely different).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Newlyns sent me a debt collection letter relating to NCP in which they stated 'as a bailiff company...'
I just ignored them and they went away.
I had abought 8 letters in total from Newlyns, the last one said they would refer the debt back to NCP to take me to court.

Can you tell us when was that, they have been warned about sending that letter out? Was it after 31/10/12 ? This is what the dvla reply was to complaint raisedThank you for your email regarding this matter.

I have contacted this organisation and they have confirmed that this wording is on an old stock of letters and will no longer be used.

Regarding your comments on the consumer credit licence, while Newlyn PLC’s licence has expired, the letter you are referring to was not issued by Newlyn PLC. The letter was from Newlyn Debt Collection Ltd who have a valid consumer credit licence.

My letter was recieved at the beginning of October 20120

I would recommend the OP keeps safely any statement or reciept from Ringo as this would surely undo any court preceedings if NCP were stupid/brave enough to attempt it0

Hi Ozvaldinho,
Thanks SO much for all advice...so much appreciated. Last question; once they threatened to return your case to NCP who would then take you to court, did you hear anything else? Or was it the end of the saga?
Last letter states "unless we hear from you in the next seven days...your file will be processed for court action. THIS WILL RESULT IN ADDITIONAL COSTS FOR YOU."
Thanks again for helping.
