I've used the PO card in Tenerife, Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura in the Canaries and other places in Europe. It's acepted everywhere that Mastercard is accepted.
It will be no different in Lanzarote.0 -
The post office preloaded cards are widely accepted but you probably won't get a very good exchange rate.0

The exchange rate isn't likely to be good, and useability varies depending on where you're staying. In most of the touristy areas, a lot if the touristy shops won't accept card, or some will charge card fees etc. bar an restaurants should mainly be fine though.
I think in lanzarote the best way to do it is probably a card that'll let you withdraw cash for free, or just change a small amount of cash here and change as you go out there, all the the exchange rates seemed pretty fair to me, when I was out the a week and a half ago.
Just thinking, whilst you're put tere, teguise market is a must do, nobody will accept card there, but it really is incredible. You can book buses with pickup from your hotel for €4 per ticket (click here) or drive yourself there.0 -
Thanks for your replies x
I think i will just take euros out with us and if need to i will withdraw cash from the ATM.
I will definately check out the market, we are hiring a car whilst out there so will study the maps
