I have a Belkin F5D7633-4 router but no mains adapter for it. I also have one of the free Fon routers which I can't use on my system but it has a power adapter with it. Can I use the power adapter from the Fon to power the Belkin?
I have googled myself silly trying to find an answer to this so if anyone knows the answer I will happily buy you a pint of Guinness if you are ever round my way

my power lead for my Belkin Router failed recently. I ordered a replacement from 'sales@3complete.com' phone number 08704446544 (sorry about the 0870 number). Hope this may help.
P.s. lucky you, I don't drink.0 -
I'm hoping the Fon's power adapter will just work, but out of interest how much was the replacement power adapter?"Gort, klaatu barada nikto"

Check what the voltage input on the router is then compare it with the voltage output of the mains adapter you have.
Then check the current, as long as the required current on the router isn't higher than the output current on the adapter and the voltage is OK, you'll be fine. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
Hi raptorman, including vat and next day delivery it came to £18.95p. I hope your original plan works.

You need to compare voltage outputs and current ratings on the two psu's, if they are similar then you should be ok, but watch for polarity.0

I can't find specs for voltage for the belkin

Ah, found it, it's 15V DC, here's hoping the Fon adapter
is the same rating."Gort, klaatu barada nikto"

Check the current too, you don't want the router pulling more current than the adapter can provide. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... Right, in the Fon handbook/PDF it says that the Fon router
uses 5V DC 2A, so I am guessing it aint gonna work

Is there no writing on the belkin adapter itself? usually near the socket, most gadgets usually have with symbols that explain the polarity centre positive/negative voltage etc.0
