Given this government's pathological refusal to let anything other than market forces regulate anything that affects consumers, I wouldn't hold your breath ....0

Hi
No argument from me here.
It can be a grubby area in my opinion, money for nothing while others have to play by all the rules.
Never mind they can always think about doubling as Estate Agents if things get tough
My views and a little tongue in cheek maybe:)0 -
Hi
The housing charity Shelter are highlighting the subject
Some of the findings quoted are a little stomach churning in my opinion
People trying to find somwhere to live having to go through this type of thing and cost, well its a joke really given everything else that is going on.

Just my take and send the letters if they like, I will put them with the rest, then flush them in their turn.0 -

Hi Turnball
You never know:)
There might be a little tinkering round the edges or a voluntary code of practice or if we are really lucky a 'protocol' even.
Yeah, a protocol, that should do it, everybody always sticks to a protocol...dont they?0 -
It may happen but it won't be to protect the consumer, it will be to make it easier to collect tax.0

Hi
Yes, it could end up being one of those jobs.
Look good, but nothing will really change for the consumer or tenant
A familiar ring, but you never know I suppose, Shelter do have a go and take a little shaking off when they get hold it has to be said.0 -
tbs624 had a post on here some time ago, which I think had a link to a petition requesting regulation of letting agents.
Nothing changes!0
