You probably all know about the problems Talk Talk had with handling new subscriptions about a year ago.. I never had any problems with them until now. I took up their deal on broadband and phone line a year ago. About three weeks ago a fault developed on the line and try as I may I cannot get them to fix it. The 'phone is virtually unusable due to noise on the line and the internet very rarely works at all. I've contacted them on several occasions and been put on hold for up to 20 minutes each time (no joke when having to use a mobile!) and have got precisely nowhere. I've been fobbed off by everyone I've spoken to, even their managers. They've promised to call back to tell what is being done to sort them problem out and I've heard nothing from them. I eventually wrote to their MD telling him of the situation, crap service etc.etc. and have no response what so ever. I've now decided to cancel the contract with them and go back to BT in order to get the line problem sorted out.
Therefore if you are thinking of subscribing to their service(?) I would suggest you think very carefully before parting with your money. Their web site if full of wonderful platitudes about their high level of service but how you actually get it remains a complete mystery to me!

I totally agree hookie.
I really regret changing to talk talk. Unfortunately I put it in OHs name. Apparently if I want to cancel the contract before it ends I will be charged £75. It was hinted by customer services on my many phone calls to complain that if OH complained they would waive the £75. Unfortunately OH is not the complaining type, and also he very rarely uses the net at home so its not too much of an inconvenience to him.
Talk talk have installed new equipment at our telephone exchange but since this our telephone has conked out twice for 48 hours + each time. Like you say, it costs a fortune to ring them on the mobile because they keep you hanging on and I have been unable to get any money out of them in compensation. The internet is very slow and seems to work for an hour at a time then you need to shut down the computer and restart it which drives me mad!0 -
TalkTalk have been dreadful from they day they offered broadband, even when it wasn't free, they got even worse they they started to offer line rental and free broadband. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0
