I'm still getting over it:eek: The guy in question is one of the asians that come in and are notorious for their unruly, grabbing anything, behaviour. Nobody speaks to the asians apart from me in an attempt to create some harmony.
Moments before he had come along, said hello, shook my hand and we were joking. I, in my usual way, had made some throwaway joky comment about it going to be a difficult night with so many people about and lots of grabbers about (big mistake). He flew off the handle for accusing him of being a grabber, said he had been insulted and said all sorts of other unmentionable things and he'd be looking out for me. Faced up to me in a very threatening manner and said he was going to punch me in the face if I came near him:eek:

Tried to calm it down but that made it worse so I moved off and a friend who was a social worker and used to these situations tried to calm him down but gave up gobsmacked that anyone could turn so quickly. Staff saw it all and then the fun started when the produce came out and the staff had to shout at the asians to keep off but eventually took it all back out as one of them(staff) had been hit in the stomach by a notorious asian lady. She is one I talk to regularly and have tried to warn her before that if she doesn't behave she will get banned. She calls me "her friend":) and often gives me fruit that she has grabbed without knowing what it is and realises she has no need of it.

I just wonder if, in my attempts at cultural integration, I have somehow overstepped the mark in the humour dept:(

:(:( artha, that's awful!! surely if staff have seen this behaviour, this man should be banned from the store! What a terrible way to behave. It really is saddening reading things like this. I guess people who behave like this don't have any sort of sense of humour :(

Artha I phoned to sort mums bingo win today and she just confirmed name and address, wanted to know where mum wanted it paid to and that was it. Might be worth making the call. Oh course mum is thrilled with her first bingo win even though it is going in my carpet fund.

Thanks to DM for the argos deal. Would have been great for my decorator friend and both boys birthdays but appear to be oos everywhere now.
My art project dm helped me prep last might is going to work well. Still need a couple of vertical neons or labels. But can work round it.

House elf sorry for loss of your hens and dearly loved dogs departure.
Logie I presume you have been busy in the garden with the kids then went rushing off for cider!

Progress has been made at vanilla towers , all skirting, radiator and door frames have been glossed in preparation for new carpet on frinday. Cheated a bit by removing door so I can save to paint when I feel most able to do a good job.
    Must by door handles.

It was only the small flower boxes, but they're easier to post through the neighbours doors. They've just had 3 each. :D

The purple on the left was 50p, the tall double stem in the middle was a splurge at £3 from £15 and the shorter double stem was 80p from £8. These seem to be the only plants I don't kill
  • I know most people will want to reply 'you'll have to read back' etc to this question, but really it's not feasible to search several threads of 10,000 posts each!

I have been reading and have seen posts but I didn't note them at the time. My mistake.

1p chocs - is it possible someone could post a list of the known ones, please? Martins email doesn't feature many and I've stood in two stores today doing searches and failing to get very far very fast.

If someone could please list the known ones I'm sure that would help lots of us. Thank you all

seconded - however I would be sorry to see him go - though no defending him this time ! Its childish and discusting but hardly deserving of a ten game ban ! People have done worse or similar the ref deals with it and thats that ! Defo FA have it in for him !

I guess it all comes down to his past, and well, it's not great! I only learnt today that Roy Keane got 3 matches for ending a player's career, and then 5 more when he openly admitted it in his book! Disgraceful.
I am firmly across the line. I won't impose my values on you if you keep away from mine.
