LMAO! I've always wondered why people believe in such things. Why would a bird sh*ting on your head ever be good luck
Me too, only happened to me the once, and I never considered it to be good luck at all.

Thanks Scamps. I'm trying to find my way around the Portmeirion web site and its not particularly user friendly. I've decided just to ring up tomorrow and try and get a deal.

It seems as if there is the castle , the hotel and rooms scattered around the village but a real lack of any great detail.

I'm a nightmare booking hotels. I need to see a million photographs and then blow them up to look for dust.:)

We can come & say Hello :D:D

    Ts in Porth Madog ;)

The rooms are scattered around Portmeirion.
Some are directly onto the 'street' where folk walk by.
The Castle by the estuary is grand but I like the small individual rooms myself :)
    Things to do?
    Steam train to Blaeu
    Harlech Castle
    Caernavon Castle,
    Llyn Pennisular
Melyn a morfa (?) pub (bit late for me :o been ordering a printer for absolutely hours ;))
    Visit me :D

hi have not stayed in hotel but brother has he said it was very nice and clean no dust :D we go for day visits and when there is antique fair on.. have eaten in restuarant and very nice though a little pricey.. snap has summed it up if you are willing to travel a little there is lots of nice places to visit the steam train we love and castles and pennisular is so nice and not just saying that as we live there :D you could take a boat trip if you like that sort of thing we saw dolphins on our last trip out or plenty of spots for fishing

To be fair, by far the best is Creosote but it's now banned (carcinogenic). Those with a good stash of it should be fine. Soak fence posts in it and they'll rot long after you have!

Creocote is the substitute for non-professionals but is causing problems for chicken keepers; the original creosote killed redmite. The replacement stuff is eco friendly, but not as good unless you mix it 3/1 with diesel.
For fence posts or shed floors engine oil is better and longer lasting.

Remember when you change your engine oil( or the garage does) ask for the old stuff.

This year, Matthew, I shall be using Creocote with 1/3rd Diesel! :A

    lol

Well im not that informative - but I do know that we googled the best paint to buy and then spoke to a few painters who all advised the same brand ! We then bought a good few tins at £50 + a tin  - but it is magic ! Never chipped or wore off and is still as good as when first painted ! I hope not to have to paint for another few years !

I only say as my dad paints his shed/fence furniture every year and spends £60/70 on the stuff he needs and come the winter it looks like nothing and then he has to do it all again. taking into count time/ equipment and paint its not as economical !

Check me out ! I have no idea lol:rotfl:
