I had to give it up:( My GP gave me a stark choice...stop drinking or die:eek: Went through a very bad time once when things were getting me down and started to self medicate to ease things but it just made it worse as I couldn't stand being sober:( I do miss having a social drink but just can't take the chance. To be fair I couldn't have done it without a wonderful caring wife who tolerated a lot:).

It's funny nowadays being sober and realising that all around are talking drunken bilge....just like I used to...but now it's sober bilge...come to think of it that's even worse:eek:

my mum died very young, totally drink related I grew up seeing her drunk or hungover, or usually both she was a lovely lady, but got lost for whatever reason:(. Sad stuff to think about:(........you're daughter has you though because you made some smart decisions :T
