My mam used to send me to the shops for the "messages" when I was a nipper. Usually a half crown or two bob bit wrapped up in a piece of paper that had the "messages" on for the shopkeeper. I'd never thought about how odd the word is until now:)

I always thought it was Irish colloquial word - my relatives used it - you used to be sent for the messages to the shop :&

Locarr - I have read a lot over the past few days and note that you tend to bash the facebook groups fairly incessantly. It would however be wrong for you to mislead people on this forum that you have no truck with any of those groups. Given that you are a member of at least one facebook group could I be forgiven for thinking that you are being hypocritical?

If people wish to be on facebook groups then let them - live and let live sweetie:D:D

I am a member of 2, I do have an issue with the secret groups that take info from here but bemoan the existance of 10 ways for stealing their finds whilst sharing nowt !!

I also seem to remember you not wanting to join them previously but it seems you have been taken in and now play follow my leader!!:p

how annoying! I once sold a car on ebay and a bloke in the Lake District was the winning bidder. I eventually got a reply from him, asking if I would deliver the car  I told him no....pick it up. Then he sent me a novel telling me how he was depressed and kept buying things on ebay that he didnt really want or need and was hoping to get help for it :rotfl::rotfl: very bizarre:eek: I eventually relisted and sold it to a bloke who was most upset that there wasn't enough petrol in it to get home ( who sells a car with petrol in ) I had to knock £10 off so he could take it off my hands!

Ebay has it advantages, but sometimes it can be a real pain
