So, when I go away in a few weeks camping, there is a fire pit on the pitch, I'm trying to think of things to eat/cook while we are there so I can be organised and were not tempted to drive to Mc D's etc all the time :o
Any Ideas? Can you cook jacket spuds in fire? In tinfoil?

Also I'm thinking of buying a gas stove and been looking through accessories am feeling tempted to splash out on lots but what do I REALLY need???

    Anyhelp please? :D TIA x

we got by with 2 single 'suitcase' stoves and a portable bbq, however just treated myself to the cadac carri chef deluxe :)
spuds in fire great, try and do 1 pan meals if you can, try tinned veg and tinned steak all together, instant stew, rissotto. And lots of bacon for the mornings as thats all you can hear cooking, and smell :D

Also check some of these out

Hi Westvleteren, I bought these in a yesterday. They are £1.75 in a. So 75p for 3 tins. Hth

That must be the 198g tins? Did TCB accept it? Think it is better value for money to get the 340g tins for 80p ;)

Thanks. I bought something smaller and lighter and cheaper to insure for when I go travelling. It was getting a bit much when my camera bag weighed more than my luggage

Having manual control was essential so I plumped for a Canon Powershot G15 :)

Nice camera. I have the much older Canon Powershot G3 which I used to use when I went walking as a "compact". I seem to remember it cost me in the region of £500 in those days for a manual 4mp camera:eek:

Just packed a little bag for the journey 1p chocs to hand around to my friends taken out of the Mothers Day pkts of course as they do not know Nannylala is a glitcher ;) also some cheese and biscuits incase we get a bit peckish and a drop of brandy with some cheap pepsi. How I love:heart: Mse for all these little treats:T

Have a lovely weekend, Nanny. Last time I went to the Minster, there was a very posh wedding on. The bride seemed genuinely pleased to see so many 'people' inside the church.

    Do try Betty's.

I second that :) Some say it's overpriced but it ok for a one off experience. I have been to the one in York and took a scruffy HC to the one in Harrogate :D
