MyHermes Parcel shop Receipt

Hello
I have just used a MyHermes Parcel shop for the first time to send some eBay items and instead of a printed receipt with tracking number, etc (which I was expecting) they gave me a standard MyHermes pre-printed card which they wrote the number of parcels and the date on....I queried this and asked whether they could give me a proper tracking receipt but they just looked bemused and said they don't have this facility.
I am concerned that this 'receipt' won't cover me in the event of a missing item claim if a buyer does not receive an item.
Is this standard practice for MyHermes parcel shops?
I have used Collect Plus in the past and was given a printed receipt with the recipients address, tracking number etc and assumed MyHermes would be the same?
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I've never had to claim but the receipt does have a bar code which is unique to the parcel. As long as they scanned it properly it should cover you.
I suppose it is possible for the shop to pretend to scan it and never hand your parcel over to the driver, but I don't think this happens very often or at all.
You should have been given a tracking number when you paid for the order. That takes a day or two to work. Once it shows the parcel has been picked up then you don't need to worry too much.
Unless you pay for a signature, the delivery driver usually just leaves it in front of the door, so your parcel could potentially be stolen while the buyer is not in. But since the tracking shows delivery, ebay claims will be found in your favour.0 -
you don't need it because it's all in your account details under the my shipments section, you can track it there
click on my shipments on the left hand side of the page and then against the persons surname there are different icons, click on the first one for tracking details,as above it doesn't show immediately usually a few hours later when it's been collected from the shop, there's a link to track the parcel.0 -
As above all the tracking info you need is on your account and you can print that out if you prefer for your own records. The receipt the shop gave you merely confirms that the right number of parcels has been handed over.
I took just over a dozen parcels down yesterday and have one card for the lot, but I added all the tracking numbers to PayPal as soon as I printed the labels for those. In my account the tracking numbers are matched to the name and address, and that's all I need to defend an INR claim.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. The card has your parcel number on to track it, that's all. With myHermes you don't need a receipt like collect+, it's all in your online account.0
