    well, you know what? you can either get a *good scraper* (the two-handed type make these jobs much much easier) and get right behind it. or if it has been bonded on the walls with nuclear fusion buy an el cheapo electric planer and take the worst of the pointy bits off. then what you'll have is a nicely keyed surface on which to put your undercoat plaster followed by finish.

    Option 2 or is it 3.... is to 'dot & dab' . plaster board the lot and skim. You should be able to one of the first two tho.

    You could always learn to like artex! :p

    GF has put up with it for 8 years! Time to move and the estate agent says it wont up the value, so I think I will save my lungs and leave it for the next owner!
