improving my credit score

I have a relatively mediocre credit score and I need tips to improve it.
My credit card has a 1000 pound limit which I have reached. If I pay it off with my salary and use the card to live throughout the month will this improve my score?

Also would this help with the interest?

What I mean is if I have a £1000 limit which I spend but then pay off in full would this not mean that there would be no interest?

  • Using the credit card regularly and paying it off when you should will improve your credit score. Don't believe this will happen over night, you need to show your CC provider that you can handle the credit you've got.

You won't incur any charges to as long as you pay it off at the end of every month - or whenever your statement is due.

I use my CC for every purchase no matter how small - I don't touch the money in the bank account until the end of the month and that's when I pay off my CC.

CC's are a fantastic tool provided you use it properly and if you use a CC with rewards/cashback you are gaining the benefit of that too!

Other ways to improve credit score is to take a mobile phone on contract or paying car insurance monthly. Obviously don't get into debt just to improve your credit score make sure you can afford it.
