Jet2.com Newcastle-Amsterdam

Hi,
Its just been on tonights news, that Jet2.com are ceasing their Newcastle-Amsterdam route from the end of this month!!!!!! due to poor passenger numbers. Our outbound flight (26/05) is obvioulsy ok, but we were hoping to return on the 3/6. Boarding passes all printed out for both legs and a review of our booking this afternoon shows both legs of the trip currently live. After getting the alternative numbers from 0870, one lady said she was Admin only and new nothing about it and the other (Customer Services Manager' office) was definitely not happy that I had rang the geo number posted on saynoto0870. She asked where I had got her number from and when I told her (saynoto0870) she was far from pleased. Anyhow, she couldn't help. The 0870 number gets you to a call centre abroad and I don't have much faith in them. I have emailed customer services but a response takes 21 days and it will be a little late then. Does anyone have any experience of this happening to them and what, if anything do Jet2.com do to help, ie will they fly you to an alternative airport for onward travel to the destination airport or I am merely expecting too much! Thanks - sally

    Hi,

They will more than likely rebook you into Leeds and hopefully arrange a bus or pay for train tickets back upto Newcastle depending on number of passengers.

If this is not suitable they will offer a refund. You have next to no chance of them rebooking you with KLM.

    Good Luck

They'll probably offer a refund on the cancelled flight only. They may offer you a flight to Leeds but I doubt if they'll help any further.

Perhaps it's time for a booze cruise from North Shields?

Hello and thank you for your quick replies. As I live approx 40 miles South of the airport, the only reason I would need to get back there, would be to retrieve my car!!!!. If I cancel the car parking now, I will almost certainly lose my money for that. I know I'm probably hoping against hope, but one of the people I managed to speak to earlier this afternoon, said that they definitely email you and let you know at least 14 days prior, so as regards the return leg, Sunday would be the cut off point. Needless to say, you don't have to tell me, at times like this, they are a law unto themselves. Thanks again - sally
