Home insurance - amount of people living in property?

If this is inaccurate or wrong, how could they pull out of future claims?

eg, if you put 3 members live in the property, but there is actually 1 who live their permanently,

in a minor fire they could say, we are refusing your claim due to less people living there at the time

yes yea I know you should give accurate information, but some of the members might be travelling abroad in 4 months,

Insurers can typically only avoid claims if:

    1) They can prove you intentionally defrauded them, ie answered knowingly falsely to reduce the premium etc

    2) If it was an accidental/ oversight but they would not have insured you had you given an honest answer

In most cases of an accident/ oversight that is not relevant to the claim they will simply charge you an additional premium before settling any claim (or deducted the AP from the claim)
