DD vs qly bills
Options
Hiya,
I'm considering switching to paying utilities via DD instead of on bill.
I don't know though, which is the most cost-effective.
Does anyone have any views?
Thanks!

DD is (almost always) cheaper, but get a monthly payment plan so it's the same every month and no nasty shocks.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0

Most (though not all) of the cheapest online discount tariffs require fixed monthly DD payment, so if you insist on quarterly billing you are potentially paying for a more expensive tariff.
Quarterly billing of course gives you a longer period of credit-that's about the only benefit. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
