HELP-Homebase floor tiles now discontinued!

Hi,

About 18 months ago I tiled the conservatory with floor tiles called 'Palio' in beige, which were from Homebase. I planned to continue these tiles through to the kitchen when I got round to it, but that has taken longer than expected (finances ) and now I've come to buy the same ones they aren't available :(

I did email Homebase and they said that they are still showing on the stores computer systems, but she had checked in my area and none of the Derby stores stock them anymore.

I just wondered if anyone has any idea if anyone else stocks this particular name of tile? Or if they have bought some at their own branch of Homebase recently?

They are actually cream, not beige and have a 'wobbly' edge to them, :o, i.e not totally square and flat edged.

I don't mind travelling to fetch some (within reason!), so if any of you lovely peeps are in Homebase, would you please have a quick look and let me know?

They are 33cmx33cm and are about £5 a pack (cheapskate!)

I suppose I shouldn't hold out much hope as it was so long ago, but you never know...

Thank goodness I had the gumption to save a couple in case of breakages in the conservatory! :D

I have to go to Homebase in Stockport tomorrow to price up some tile adhesive if you would like me to have a look.

That would be great - Stockport isn't too far from me.

Thanks a million - you're very kind! xxx

    I've been Money Tipped!
When exactly this happened to me, my tiler managed to get a thin strip of solid oak, and carefully laid it at the threshold of the room, between the older tiles and the newer, very slightly different tiles. By using oak, which was an extremely close match to the kitchen units, he 'broke up' the expanse of tiling. You really don't notice the difference and so far, nobody has said "oh, your tiles don't match".

As it happens, I believe I have some Palio left over from a previous project. If you have no joy tracking them down via Homebase, by all means PM me and I will dig about in the dark, dingy recesses of the garage and see what I can find! Being between Boston and King's Lynn, I am not impossibly far from you. Hope that helps.

    Hi hun

Just got back from Homebase - they don't have any of these tiles in stock and nor do any of the other branches in the area :(

    Sorry.

Or freecycle? I've got rid of tiles, paint, roofing felt, wood etc that way, sometimes to 'wanteds'.

Thanks very much for your help - I do need quite a lot of tiles though, (about14'x10' room size) so I doubt you'd have that much spare in your garage?!

If by some stroke of luck you do have this much, please let me know and we can definitely sort something out!

Otherwise I'll have to opt for plan B - whatever that's gonna be! :rotfl:

    Try B and Q.

IIRC they have tiles that may just match your desription, and for a similar price!
