Savings - ISA's

Hi Apologies if this is already mentioned in this forum, though I have approx £300.00 that I would like to deposit (tax free) in to like an ISA get a goodish rate of interest: 3% and every month I would like to deposit an additional £10.00 min per month. Most fixed rated ISA's mean you put: £500.00 or so away and that's it no deposits or anything. The risk level of my money would be as minimal as poss, any ideas anyone?

You can do that with an instant access cash isa but you wont get 3%. Maybe 2.5%

You might be better off ignoring the £2 or so tax benefit of the ISA, and look at a Regular Savings account which suits your requirement, as those accounts often have more respectable interest rates.

You can do better than 3%, eg:

    http://www.thenottingham.com/savings/starter-isa-issue-3/

Save between £1- £480 every month

    4%. Tax free.

Only downside is that you have to visit a branch, but you don't say where you are.
  • Regular savings accounts with reasonable interest rates. One of these may be of interest to you. Not sure where you are in the country or if you have children.

Kent Reliance regular savings account at 4% http://www.krbs.com/products/savings-and-investments/savings-accounts/regular-savings-accounts/one-year-regular-savings-account/ open with £25 and then £1 - £500 a month thereafter. Can be opened in branch. These are mainly in the Medway towns or further east into Kent.

Norwich & Peterborough building society do a 'family' savings account at 5%

http://www.nandp.co.uk/savings/regular-savings/family-regular-saver/ open with up to £250 and then between £1 - £250 per month after that. This account is conditional on having child or children under 16 years or under 18 and in full time education. Can be opened over the internet, by post or in branch..

I have legitimately opened one of these but there is absolutely no question asked to declare or confirm this.

May be you have to provide proof when you like to withdraw your interest? Just guessing.

Yes that would be interesting, but as its operating with their on line system I doubt that they have programmed them to take this in to account - but who knows!

As an aside you can only open one of each type of their regular accounts but you can open 1 of each.

I have 2 at 5% and 2 @4% opened with ease, once the first one is opened they are very efficient.

    Cheers

Do children under 16 have to be entered on electoral roll?

Due to my legitimate circumstances I can state this is not true.

    Thanks
