Egg Card/Barclay Charges

Hello,

Hadn't realised Barclaycard had taken over Egg Card payments. They cancelled my direct debit last July as I had not received any correspondence from them to get in touch and update my payment details with Egg/Barclays. I have since incurred interest and late payment charges from Barclays. They have now sent my debt to an agency to recover. I only found this all out today when I noticed my payments had been rejected. Previously I was paying a set amount and my interest was frozen. Is there anything I can do? I don't mind paying what I was paying to this new debt recovery company, but I'm a bit narked about the interest and charges incurred as I had no word of warning from Egg.

What did Barclaycard say when you contacted them over this issue? :cool:

they said my payments were stopped in july last year, that they reinstated interest and added charges as i had failed to make them payments. i moved house and hadn't changed my address (my stupid mistake) so i hadn't received any notification. they have charged over £200 in payment charges and interest. they decided to send the debt to Credit Solutions and I will now need to deal with that company as it is out of barclays hands.
