we play the shopping game, "I went to the shop and bought an apple", then the next person has a turn, "i went to the shop and bought and apple and some bananas", all the way through to Z. with some very interesting items being purchased by my 6yo. He went shopping and bought knickers when he got to "n". we were all to busy laughing we didn't have the heart to correct the spelling.0

My step son is 8 and autistic, so struggles with words and interaction at times. He normally spends long and short car journeys with his head stuck in a games console. So we have adapted I Spy to Can You See? Eg Can you see a bridge? To which he replies there's the bridge, pointing at it. Talking and interacting :-)0

The Mini game whoever spots a mini has to shout out the colour of the car first.
Me, OH and friends have taken it to a new level thoughWe now play it when we are walking down the street.
We used to play 'mini punch, no return' although only when walking. The kids told me about it and the aim is to spot a mini before anyone else and then you get to punch them on the arm! If the mini was black then the other person could make them 'take it back' twofold.
Luckily the kids weren't too hard at punching!
We stopped it as my DD would not abide by the rules and just liked to punch
Some good reminders of games we used to play when we were children on the many journeys to camping.0 -
The counting game. One person starts counting something, eg red cars. Every time a red car goes past they count the next number. Everyone else has to guess what they are counting.
When I was a child a variation on this was to pick a colour and then you had to count how many cars of that colour would overtake you within a certain timeframe.2014 Target;
To overpay CC by £1,000.

Our DD is three so many of these games are too hard for her. We play a simplified I Spy based on colours. So I spy something red or whatever.
Mostly she listens to music or we chat.
On planes we take games. Travel Guess Who, Pass The Pigs, books, stickers, and a pack of cards. For grown ups we also gave poker dice which are Basically Yahtzee but just five dice in a small pouch.
Will follow this with interest for more games suitable for a little one.:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Someone mentioned the Alphabet Game but no-one's mentioned the Numberplate Game yet. You have to find numbers on numberplates, starting at 1 and progressing into double figures. It's a good game for traffic queues on motorways. It being 2013, it's now very hard to find a '14'. On our last trip to the Lakes (an hour or so stuck in slow-moving traffic), our kids (4 & 6) really got into this but gave up when we got to 13 and explained that we probably wouldn't see a 14. Obviously being the nerd I am, I carried on searching and was immensely gratified when I found my 14 before the journey's end!0
