I went to the Post Office this morning and while there I noticed a written announcement re today's strike. I was very surprised, thought the strike was over. :o Got some mail yesterday, no sign of postie today though - so there must be a strike, at least here where I live.

There is offical industrial action until the 8th August, however when I called the Post Office to try and sort out getting a parcel somewhere for today, they told me (strictly unofficially apparently) that she didn't want to tell me I could do xyz which should be possible, as there are loads of unofficial strkes going on, taking opportunity of the offical action to hide behind (I am just reporting this btw, not judging in any way).

It was meant to be that the postmen and women are off today, with limited collections from boxes taking place. Ie, no deliveries and few pick ups. It was the actual post offices themselves on Tues, and will be something else tomorrow - so the two weeks of action isn't every part of the services everyday but a different part each day. Which all adds up to things not being great for post anyway unfortunately. Check royal mail website for the offical story, phone them up though if you need clarification on anything as the website is as clear as mud imho and there are loads of 'naughty' strikes as well which is further confusing and delaying things...

I saw bit stuff next to sun creams yesterday so are both of those classed as toiletry or beauty???

    Mary

    Hi Mary,
If you mean insect repellent deet sprays (like jungle formula, Tesco own etc.) these are definately classed as toiletries so you can use the £1.25 quit pack coupon & the H&B £2.50 & £1 toiletry coupons if you have them.

i know this one because i m highly allergic to insect bites, if i walk into the wood naked, i will come out like an elephant (wo)man.:rotfl:

tried many insect repellent before, the spray doesn't work that well. the stick is much better. i bought t insect repellent stick, it is like a crystal thing u rub on skin, leaves no residue no grease no stickiness, hardly notice it is there.

it scanned as toiletry but i suspect it may work on healthcare too.

sounds a lot like me.... i used to live in Canada and loved camping and the outdoors but used to get bitten alive. My legs and arms have swollen to twice their size in a few occasions. I once went on a hike and had to cover my head and face cos the mozzies were so bad... all that was exposed was my forehead and I got bitten over 20 times just on my forehead... I looked like a spotty teenager for a week!

Which repellant stick are you talking about and does it work? I'm off to canada for hols soon and am willing to try anything (but dont like deet). I normally use avon skin so soft as I have found it works better than a lot of the actual repellants.

Seems they're gonna give us all a downloadable voucher too.:D
See post #773 just incase that link doesn't work properly.

I thought there must be a thread somewhere. It looks like everyone got the same stock answer to their email from Danone.
Not thrilled about the downloadable coupon. My printer is set to greyscale so I have to fiddle with the settings to get colour. The other thing is that it is such a high value coupon, I think even places that might accept an internet print off might question it, even buying the product.

Also if its only on line for one week, what about everyone who is away etc

Hey - you've kind of missed the point.

I do not make a habit of flaming people.

The point that I made (and which makes me  ) is that Welsh Dragon is abusing the good-will of the community for her own personal profit.

She is taking vouchers off people and selling these on.

In my book - this puts her in the same boat as the Dudes on eBay who sell on Bank Overcharging Letter Templates - which are free on this site.

If any of you believe that my attitude is unfriendly then you are damn right - this is a money-saving site not a ripping each other off site.

Other than that I'm a friendly and laid-back chap - over 1,300 'thanks' can't be wrong - and this is without a fawning 'please hit my thanks button' in my signature.

I have no regrets over exposing Welsh Dragon for what she is - she can try to hide behind your posts - but she remains someone who abuses the generous nature of others for her own selfish personal gain on eBay.

I think the commuity should be aware of this - if this truth offends, so be it.

    Duder

I think you will find that the person selling on ebay is not the same person as Welsh Dragon and we have already been able to prove that fact so you should get your facts right in the first place before accusing anyone. :p

I still haven't been brave enough to use MOCs when not buying the product, but I got a step closer today!

    I managed to use 3 x 40p off colgate when buying 12p kids toothpaste:j

    I bought
    3 x Brilliant brunettes John Frieda shampoo/condtioners
3 x kids mint toothpaste (probably for Christmas shoeboxes)
    total before 342 = £13.74
    total after 342 = £9.28

    used
    2 x £2.50 H&B
    2 x £1.25 quit
    3 x 0.40p colgate

    TOTAL = £0.58!

I had other stuff in my trolley so this was disguised!

    I was so chuffed:j :j :j

Is there a way of using coupons on toothbrushes, what are they classed as???
    :j I love bargains:j

I don't think so due to H&S and not being allowed in the actual sorting office however this is only from my experience with my old local sorting office, I don't know what blanket policy is (or even if this was right, they might have just been trying to get rid of me:rotfl:). You should phone Royal mail and ask them, they might put you through to the sorting office direct and ask if you can go down and get it :)
