Foreign Exchange Conversion Fees

in Credit cards
I have just discovered that I have been paying conversion fees. Only because instead of it being included in the amount it is now being listed as a separate amount.
I called my credit card provider and have hit a wall. They were willing as a good will gesture to refund the £10 from my recent foreign jolly but I told them I am less worried about that than the years I have been using it, to my knowledge, freely on many jaunts around the globe. That was the more sinister money grabbing! They are sending me a copy of terms and conditions and advise if I am still unhappy to approach the FSA.
Anyone else fallen foul of this and if so have you had any success at redress?

I haven't fallen foul of it - because I've always used cards that don't charge such a fee. Well once when I got confused and used the wrong card....
I seriously doubt you will get anywhere with the FSA though. It's always been in the T&Cs - granted well buried and (way back) not specific as to amount.
But it might be interesting trying.0 -
Always been clearly stated in T+Cs what foreign usage will cost.
Nothing sinister. Your fault entirely.0 -

Oh don't sugar coat it or anything. Thank you very much  I knew cash withdrawals were charged (so always make sure I don't do that)... I just didn't think paying in hotels/restaurants/shops were.0
