Could you staircase 25% so you wouldn't be so stretched, and then do the other 25% later on?

I'd cost up the possible difference between doing this and staircasing in one go later on, as there'd be two lots of surveyors costs, solicitors fees and HA fees.

My partner has a shared ownership property. I told him to buy the property outright ages ago, but he hasn't. He bought his share in 2008 but the house value has now decreased. What bugs me is he does the repairs and improvement and the ha will reap the benefit if he decides to sell his share. Personally I would purchase it outright. My partner also had a problem with some outside sewage pipes. The council said all the residents on the road about 6 of them would have to contribute to the bill. He approached his ha and said they wouldn't assist he should claim off his insurance. Purchase outright as staircasing you would have to pay fees each time.
