Has anyone heard of CCBill.com?
There's a charge on my egg money statement for £20.25 on 13th May from them and I've never heard of them.
I've asked egg to look into it. I've done a google search and found the company but cant make head nor tail of it. Looks like a subscription or suchlike that they do.
I've emailed their customer services and asked why they've charged me for something when I've never even heard of them.
I only used my card twice on Sunday, petrol and supermarket, and before then it was the end of April cos I'm trying to keep a +ve balance.
Is this a scam of some sort?

ive seen this queried before and seem to remember ccbill is a third party provider often used by those who would rather keep their "website subscriptions" anonymous. they may well act as a third party to other more mainstream services as well.0

Tom is correct; they are the public face of subscriptions to several adult themed websites.Karma is a wonderful thing.0

OMG  Adult thingies??? Where've they had my credit card number from?
I had an email back from this CCBill.com, they said they cant investigate the entry unless I give them my subscription number, email address when I signed up and name. duh! I dont have a subscription since I've never heard of them.
They did however tell me not to send my credit card details via email.......as if I would  They said to phone them....I think they are in Arizona or some such place. I'm not phoning them.
I emailed back and said I've never heard of them, never subscribed to anything online or anywhere else for that matter. I've never even seen an adult website. _pale_
What might egg be able to do about it? I've not been in this situation before.debt free...yippee :dance:0 -
Sounds as if someone is using your card for 'naughty' subscriptions.
I presume this is a credit card ? Just say that you did not authorise the transaction and DON'T pay it ! It is egg's problem not yours.0 -

They should pass it to their chargebacks team who will investigate it for you.0 -

I cant help but pay it cos i have a dd to pay the full balance each mth and its already on the statement. Egg said it may be reimbursed once the dispute team have investigated. But they said a subscription is paid monthly or annually and the contract is between the company and the individual, not egg, so even if the card is cancelled the payment will still be made off the old card number until the subscription is cancelled with the company.
I cant cancel it cos I dont have a subscription.debt free...yippee :dance:0 -
hello
the information they have given you is incorrect..
Egg Can c/back the transaction; making the company aware of its legitimacy (or lack of) They could also request the voucher under a fraud reason code, which again would do likewise with confirming its legitimacy
They are correct however in confirming that should no action be undertaken, then they will continue to debit the account; however, the transactions will continue to debit the old account, so basically its their *profits* that they eat into by doing nothing....
Just make sure that Egg do not transfer the transaction to your new card product...keep an eye on statements, mostly .. do not worry about themProud To Be Dealing With My Debts - 1420 Days To Go!LBM: £103,592.98 / Currently £78,500.08 - Down 24.22% / Mortgage: £92,800.00 / Loan: £17,284.21 / Overdraft: £450.09 / C/Card 0%(October 08): £5,601.54 / C/Card 0% (January 09): £1075.22 / Child Care: £137.80

so should i cancel my card and have a replacement or keep it? I'd rather keep it but not if I keep getting the charge added in error every month.debt free...yippee :dance:0

If it is a fraudulent transaction, your credit card company will cancel your card and issue a replacement with a new card number. I had a dodgy transaction appear on my MBNA card a couple of years ago which was, thankfully, flagged up by their fraud detection systems - they new about it within minutes of it happening at 3am!This space has been intentionally left blank0
