Offered combined postage but buyer has paid for 2 items straight away

Good position to be in, as I am selling several items and on each listing I offer combined postage. Someone has just won 2 items at 99p and paid for both straight away.

What should I do, post the items separately and pay for 2 lots of postage,
Contact them and offer to combine and save them some postage costs. But as they have paid already how can I refund.

Thanks

I would definitely ask them, then simply send a refund on one of the paypal payments...

    Yes so would I.

You can easily do a partial refund through paypal.

If I were your buyer I would give you glowing feedback for doing so.

Intend to just work out the saving in sending two together (less the PayPal charge) and refund the difference . Then just send the usual despatch email adding a note that I have refunded part of the p and p as both times can be sent together.

Not sure about PayPal charges, do they take cost of item and postage or just item.

My paypal charges for these items are 34p each, hopefully send both as small parcel rather than 2 for £2.60, so what would I refund, sorry for being thick

I think some of the advice is ill advised. No-one knows what the items are you sold and how much they are really worth. If the buyer thinks they got a really good deal, they might even feel sorry for you. 99p an item? 10p of that you lost to eBay. You really want to refund them?

I have paid straight off for items such as this as I was not at the least worried about a few pence refund on postage !

Some buyers do look at the combined price when buying.........

If the P&P amount was significant then ask the seller if she/he would like a partial refund.

I have never given a refund - if they want a discount they request a new total before paying - simples.

I used to give refunds but after receiving very little feedback, or so much as a "thank you" I don't bother anymore.

Bit odd though, as those who have paid well over the odds for postage have then gone on to leave glowing feedback . . .

    Nowt so odd as folk!
