(sorry, dont know how to shorten a link) which seems very well built and drawers seem much stronger than previous MFI ranges.
Someone, please tell me they like MFI

Hand up over here!
I fitted out a bedroom with 'Provence' a couple of years ago...4 x double wardrobes + 2 sets of drawers.
Even put them together on my own, (well had a bit of bloke help just to lift the wardrobes upright). Bit time-consuming but dead easy when you get the hang of it. All the bits were there, to my surprise!
Had no probs at all so far...is wearing well...and I especially like the glidey-type drawers.
Go for it...MFI isn't as rubbish as some people seem to think!♥♥♥ Genius - 1% inspiration and 99% doing what your mother told you. ♥♥♥0 -

My two children both have MFI bedrooms, they were one of my first BOGOF deals in 1993, we kitted out 2 identically sized bedrooms for about £250 total.( double wardrobe, tallboywith 2 drawers, 2 sets of 3 drawers, and a dressing table/desk with drawers for each child) We though they would last till we could justify spending a bit more as they got older, I expected them to fall to bits to be honest. They have been great, still look as good as new, they are melamine type doors etc so a quick wipe brings them up looking good. We have never even had a problem with a broken drawer, unlike our more expensive bedroom which has had all the drawers remade to solve a runner problem.
The only problem is the kids are now 17 & 19 and the wardrobes are a little small, I say they are is such good shape because thay never put anything away like most teenagers.I have seen more expensive stuff fall apart in a few months so I am really happy with them.

Yes very happy thanks. Bought ours in 2001 when they had one of their many offers on and were delivered a few weeks later. Put up loft for 6 weeks until after xmas so I had time to build them myself. A bit complicated to start with but when you have built one they others seem so easy. Did it all myself with no intereference from Mrs chalky_bertie. Bought the bits that go around the top and bottom to make them look nicer but as floor wasn't really level it would have looked crap if I had put them on so returned them back to store for a full refund.
I also had the expectation that there was going to be bits missing or they wobbled but not at all. Would recommend them to anyone.
Just beware if they do one of those fancy drawings for you bring it home and measure again yourself as the one they did for us would fit but then we couldn't get in to shut the curtains.**BERTIE**Did you Know: It costs more than £325,000 a day to run the lifeboat service? Thanks for all replies, that is very reassuring. I can now go ahead and order - whenever the best offer is on.0

me too:j
We fit the Milan range, which is one of the cheaper Schrieber ones and I have to admit I was a little worried that the quality would be poor. But we love it and have had no problems at all (touch wood;) )
We also had a Screiber kitchen from MFI last year and its brill - everyone comments positively on it.
My only advice it that I would choose a range from the Schreiber ones rather than Hygena as they DID seem a little poor quality. (only my personal opinion) I do believe that the units are not as strong, I know for certain that the Hygena kitchen units are made with a thinner material (wood/laminate etc) than Schreiber.0 -
I spent yesterday putting together two double wardrobes from the Manilla range and everything went smoothly until I hung the doors onto the frame.
I went back into the room a few minutes later and noticed that both wardrobes seemed to be leaning forward. When I checked, the bolts holding the bottom to the bottom flat panel (via cam screw) had come right through the bottom panel. It would appear that the weight of the doors is too heavy for the bolts putting too much pressure on them. The bottom panel does not have enough thickness to sypport this weight.
I went back to the store where the salesperson told me they had never seen this before but offered me replacements for the damaged panels (to be delivered in two weeks time!!!).
Has anyone else had a problem like this? I followed the fitting instructions very carefully and cannot see anywhwere I have gone wrong. The Daily Mail

cant comment on the mfi wardrobe range as ive never done one.
but ive done lots of similar ones from other retailers. fixings system much the same. some of them were absolutely terrible. appalling quality.
there was a cheap range called colorado from courts, (also available elsewhere), it was awful. it broke whilst you were assembling it!Get some gorm.0 -

We bought one for a spare bedroom in 1983. It moved with us to a new house in 1985 and is still in use in a spare bedroom.
It is used quite regularly but still looks almost brand new. I have had to tighten up the door hinges once or twice but that is a one minute job.
Not bad for a cheap item that is 24 years old now.0
