Hi,
I don't know if this is the right place to post this...
I'm looking to sell my car... has anyone sold their car through sites like webuyanycar.com ?
They say they'll buy your car, but expect it to be handed over in advance of the money arriving in your account by BACS (obviously this takes a few days to arrive). I'm a bit wary about handing it over before money is in the bank! Has anyone else dealt with them? Do they honour their payments?
Seems a bit strange that they don't do chaps or other quicker payment method.
Thanks for your help!

Hi benjamin,
You should get more help with this on the Motoring board so I'll move your thread over there.

Ebay are doing a free motors listing on May 19th and 20th. So you could list you car on there for free (Normally I think it's £8)
If it sells you still however have to pay a selling fee, (something like £17), but could be worth it as you'll get good expsoure.
You can list you car as an auction, or a buy it now price, or you could just list it as a classified ad.0 -
Thanks,
That's good to know. I had considered ebay, but as I haven't used it before I was worried that a lack of a track record might make it hard for people to buy something like a car from me.
I also find paypal really hard to use and don't know if I trust it in terms of ensuring money is paid...
I looked at the webuyanycar site because thought it would save me effort of having to worry about advertising the car etc. but not sure if i trust them

webuyanycar is linked directly to Carcraft and you will have recieved an enhanced valuation in the event you buy from them.
They have a very poor reputation, both for customer service, for pricing, for the quality of their vehicles and their finance rates.
In many ways they exhibit all the stereotypes that go with car dealers wrapped up in a shiny glass showroom.
Trade it elsewhere or sell it privately.0 -
That's good to know. I guess I'm less worried about finance etc, as I don't plan to buy there, but if the first valuation is enhanced then that's a worry.0
