Will I save a lot?

I have an old G rated floor standing boiler that is well over 20 yrs old but still going strong.

Currently my annual spend on gas is about £650. If I get one of these new style condensing boilers installed rated at A or B is there a way that I can work out how much I'll save on my current £650 annual gas bill?

Nowhere near enough to justify replacing an old, working, safe boiler and spending probably over 2 grand in the process! In fact, given that modern boilers are traditionally not as long lasting as older, less sophisticated boilers, you could end up being much much worse off. Keep the old, inefficient boiler until it gives up the ghost/becomes unsafe would be my advice and stick the 2 grand saved in an ISA. Look at it as an Old Master (I do my 20 year old baxi with the 081 London telephone prefix on the sticker on the front).

Yes, even if the new boiler is 20% more effiicent (probably won't be) that's a 'saving' of £130/yr. Not worth it until you have to do it imo.
