American express nectar card cancelled!

Just cancelled my amex nectar card.

Have been a member since 08, almost 5 years (in october).

Received a letter saying from my card anniversary Oct 2013 I will be charged £25 per annum going forward for the privelage of using their card. Like I haven't paid them enough in interest over the years.

Had to cancel because the card fee was £25 per annum. At a cashback of 1p per pound (effectively), I would have to spend 2500 to break even. Something I don't do.

Amex isn't widely accepted in the UK either, many high street stores refuse to take it, so it's not like I can spend money on it.

There are far too many good cards out there, with 0% purchases so the value proposition is poor on this card.
