Check out when your payment plan year end is. Depending on the company your balance should be at zero by then. If the payments need to increase to meet this deadline a system will have been programmed to check at certain periods throughout the year and this would then increase your payment plan.
You mention September- is that when your payment plan hits 12 months? If so check what balance you have now against what you used in the summer last year to see if your previous pyts would have met zero by then.
I am with British Gas who will expect me to probably go into the red through winter and then clear it and build a credit through the summer. I made sure my payments were high enough that the credit I made through the summer has not let me go into debit yet and probably will not. Some companies though do not like a debt building up at any time so this is one of the things to check when considering moving supplier.
The amount of people that seem to think a Fixed plan is a fixed payment is high on these boards. Maybe we should have a sticky about tariff types at the top of the Forum.Self Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0 -
I have heard of a person with unmetered water, with hoses running to his next door neighbours - who are metered.
My MIL's neighbour's gardens enjoy this arrangement, though they're only hooking up to hers when necessary-and no she doesn't charge them.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
If its British Gas, and youre paying fixed DD it can depend when in the month the direct debit claims as to how they revise your payments!.
I was previously paying £60 month by direct debit.
Last week prior to DD being received there system wanted to increase my gas payment to £67 month from next month, now this months DD has gone through and Balance (following actual readings) is to about £5 credit prior to next months reading,
Now the system will let me set it back; it even suggests £59 month now!...0 -

Some water companies charge their un-metered customers an additional charge if they wish to use a hosepipe.
