Can't find the answer to this anywhere..here goes. About 4 years ago I signed up to Barnardo's gift aid scheme but in light of the revelations of child abuse in their homes I now wish to stop it. Does anyone know how I go about this please?

If it was just a Gift Aid declaration for a one-off gift, then you need to write to them and say that you would like to cancel it for any future gifts, but if you don't intend making any then you don't have to do anything.

If it was a Standing Order or Direct Debit, all you need to do is contact your bank and cancel it. It's courteous to tell them you're doing this, especially with a DD as they will try to collect it if they don't know it's been cancelled, but not essential.
